Who We Are

Cancer Recovery Foundation - UK is a member of Cancer Recovery Foundation International. The foundation educates adults about taking a holistic approach to cancer prevention and survival, whilst providing support to children affected by cancer and their families.

Our Founder Greg Anderson was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer in 1984 and given only 30 days to live. He refused to allow this prognosis to destroy his life and sought out people who had survived cancer after being told by their doctors that they were terminal. From interviews with over 16,000 cancer survivors a strategy was created which led to the birth of a new movement, which is known today as the Cancer Recovery Foundation International. For more than twenty years, the Foundation has provided leadership in cancer survivorship on a global basis.
Greg Anderson is the author of nine books, including the best seller, “The Cancer Conqueror.” Cancer Recovery Foundation Publications are a valuable source of information, support and inspiration.

Cancer Recovery Foundation - UK works to empower and support people living with cancer and their families and provide information about the integration of body and mind and spirit in the healing process. By combining modern medical science with a whole-person or holistic approach to treatment, the aim is to provide people with the knowledge to develop a self-management programme that offers them the best chance of recovering and living a healthy life.

The Cancer Recovery healing model focuses on six important areas, which are; medical, nutrition, exercise, attitude, support and meaning and purpose, as shown in the Cancer Recovery Pyramid. We emphasise that each person is unique, can tap into their own healing powers and is ultimately responsible for their own well being.
In the United Kingdom, we are enthusiastically working to build upon Greg Anderson’s vision. This can be done through simple acts of kindness and support to individuals and families who have been devastated by cancer. The programmes that we run are focused upon the provision of service and care directed towards families who are struggling to cope with a child or other family member who has been diagnosed with cancer. We aim to provide help with their emotional, physical and financial needs. Read more about the charities cancer care programmes and services.
