| Dear Supporter . |
|
A warm welcome to you from Cancer Recovery Foundation as we look forward to Spring.
We have had a busy few months moving offices and welcoming two new members of staff. Dr Caroline Longmore joins us as Medical Director. Her passionate interest in Complementary Medicine and Naturopathy led to extensive studies in Nutrition and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Caroline is the founder of the Galen Naturopathic Centre in Richmond, Surrey and is the author of ‘The Serotonin Secret’ which explains the significance of a serotonin imbalance and how it can lead to many health issues.
To read Caroline’s articles, recipes and advice visit our website www.cancerrecovery.org.uk. Please join us, email any questions, read our blogs and visit the forum. We want to reach out to more people and their families who are living with cancer.

Ben Lee joins us as Fundraising Officer to expand our fundraising activities and to develop our major donor database. Needless to say, we truly appreciate all the support we have received and will continue to depend on your donations to support our programmes. Last year, our Family Emergency Assistance Fund was inundated with requests for financial help, especially due to the recession and higher heating bills. We expect this to continue in 2010.
Once again, we cannot thank you enough for your continuing support of our programmes.
Joanna Cooper, Executive Director, Cancer Recovery Foundation - UK

A message from Dr. Caroline Longmore It is a privilege working with CRF as a medical director. My role is to further develop an integrated approach to cancer care and recovery.
I trained as a paediatrician since then I have worked in a variety of specialties. For the last ten years I have been practicing integrated Medicine and have built a successful practice in Richmond. I look after many cancer patients; mainly in the recovery period where I work with them to stabilise health after surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.
The positive results can be overwhelming; my aim is to encourage patients to take responsibility for their lifestyle habits, and support them through the many changes required to a more balanced health through diet and positive lifestyle changes. |

A message from the new Fundraising Officer I joined the Cancer Recovery Foundation-UK in mid January 2010 and I am delighted to be part of the team. I have a strong background in project management and multi-agency work within a public sector setting and I am keen to put these skills to good use.
One of my key tasks is to increase our income through grants, legacies, major gifts and corporate partnerships. We have set a challenge of raising £350,000 over the next 3 years to extend our services for people living with cancer. |
