Search For A Hugs - Part One

Hugs Bear

Our Bear mascot Hugs is getting a make over!

We are producing a new bear friend for our Christmas gift bags to be sent to hospitals and hospices around the country looking after children and young people with cancer. The project is being supported by Best Years, the leading UK wholesaler of knitted, crochet and fair trade toys.

The Children’s Cancer Recovery Project gift bags, which feature the bear logo, have been creating smiles and helping to make cancer treatment more 'bear-able' for children and young people since the charity started here in the UK four years ago. This year we have decided to literally give everyone a “hug(s)” by producing a new Hugs teddy bear to cuddle. Hugs wears a bandana to help children feel less self conscious about loosing their hair due to their treatment.

The project has kicked off to a flying start with two sample bears and a survey of local children to pick their favourite (even our visiting office dog Charlie helped pick the winner!). The vote was unanimous and a new Hugs has been chosen.

Special thanks to the staff and visitors at Tandridge Leisure Centre Oxted for helping us out with our vox pops survey.
